Under 18 Report 2011
2011 Minor Championship versus Rapparees
Sunday 3rd April, 11AM Belfield, Enniscorthy.
Referee; Aidan O’ Brien
Most matches involving the Harriers and the Raparees tend to be close affairs and this game proved to be one of those from the opening whistle.
The Harriers opened the scoring with two early frees (Rhys Clarke) only to be answered with two return frees from the Raps. The First half of the match tended to follow the theme of the opening minutes. With two more frees coming from Rhys Clarke and points from Con O’Donnagain and Jason O’Dowd. The Raps however continued in their attack and a scrappy goal was conceded by the Harriers defence. This left the Harriers trailing at half time; 1-6 to 0-6.
The second half opened with the Raps dominating the match but gradually the Harriers increased the pressure until goals scored by John Bridges and Rhys Clarke put the Harriers in the driving seat. The Harriers finished the day on top with a final score; Harriers 3-12, Raparees 2-10.
