Junior B Camogie Summary 2009
Junior B Camógie Summary 2009
The women got together and decided they were going to put an effort in this year. We started brightly with a win over St James 7-06 to 2-03. The next League match was another success with a win over Rosslare. Adamstown were our next opponents, although we had all the play we just could not get the scores. The girls put in a great effort in this match but could not get that winning score. Adamstown won by 1 point. It was after this game that the girls started to miss training and the interest once again faded. In our next 2 League games we were beaten only by a couple of points. Unfortunately a League we should have won with ease slipped away from us due to a lack of commitment from several players.
Next was our Championship campaign, which we were unsure of whether to play. In the end we decided that we would do our best to field a team for these games. With no training been done and playing with only 14 to 15 players we had a huge mountain to climb. With 1 win out of 3 games we had to give walkovers in our 3 remaining matches in the Championships due to the girls not been available and others just not bothered putting any effort in.
